Spreading seeds of Compassion

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM    Paseo Santa Lucía

Free Family Event

We will be celebrating the Internatonal Day of Non Violence, also known as Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, in a symbolic event fueled by compassion. About 5,000 children will participate in a parade at Paseo Santa Lucía where seven parade boats representing each continent, will sail through the artificial river.

In order to include children in raising awareness towards practicing compassion and peace, the Department of Education of Nuevo León will be participating with a campaign where the Charter for Compassion's message will be shared and will invite students to write messages for peace and practice acts of compassion. These efforts will be documented and published on a special issue in a local paper on Saturday, October 2nd.

Silence for Peace

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM     Parque Fundidora

Free event - Prayer * Meditation * Intention

We will join at a spiritual level in silence for peace and compassion. Through Monterrey's Interfaith Council, we extend an invitation to prayer, meditation, yoga, and universal energy centers, and to all of those who believe transformation can be possible through the union of spiritual force. This will be the highest point of expression for wishing peace from our hearts. We will feature live instrumental healing music and will be still during a ten minute session in silence for peace.

*Program subject to changes.
